Sofia & Svetlana - an innovative piano accordion duo, playing upbeat originals and Balkan bangers. Svetlana and Sofia’s collaborations date to late last century in lutruwita Tasmania, and include the country and western band ½ lb of Ostrich Feathers and a Hot Spur, and As the accordion duo Freshly Squeezed they have performed at events in Sydney, Woodford Folk Festival QLD and the Adelaide Festival which they initially gatecrashed, but then were offered a slot in the festival club by Robyn Archer, and interviewed on ABC radio. Svetlana’s accordion music and compositions have framed circus, comedy and cabaret shows, underscored films, documentaries and art happenings, and thrilled audiences far and wide via a kaleidoscopic array of music ensembles spanning three decades, most notably Monsieur Camembert (Sydney, ARIAx3), Darth Vegas (Sydney), Christa Hughes (Sydney), Tango Saloon (Sydney) and Vulgargrad (Melbourne).
