Brisbane Jazz Orchestra: Groovin' on Sunday - September 2026

The Brisbane Jazz Orchestra is a professional 19-piece Brisbane-based big band featuring award-winning vocalist, Ingrid James and Musical Director and trombonist, the indefatigable Rob Anders . It is known for its “ impressive dynamism and cohesion, musicianship and execution of exciting repertoire choices.” BJO has a diverse repertoire which pays homage to the Great American Songbook, Modern Jazz Songbooks, as well as South American music (Brazilian, Cuban, etc). Many of the arrangements and some original materials have been sourced over the years by members of the group, as well as, by other notable international and national arrangers. They are also known for their diversity of feels and grooves from Swing to Cha Cha Cha, Calypso, Bolero, Salsa, Mambo, Bossa Nova, Samba through to Funk.
