DALLAS FRASCA ANNOUNCES MELBOURNE SEND-OFF SHOWS BEFORE HEADING
TO VANCOUVER TO RECORD NEW ALBUM
Acclaimed Australian rock artist Dallas Frasca will perform two intimate Melbourne “send-off shows” this June before travelling to Vancouver to record her fifth studio album with a world-class Canadian recording team.
Frasca will perform at Last Chance Rock & Roll Bar on Friday, June 26 and The Espy Basement on Saturday June 27, delivering two high energy nights in close quarters before departing for British Columbia to begin work on the new record.
The upcoming record will be made with a powerhouse team including producer/engineer Janey Aurora and engineer/musician Erik Nielsen (City and Colour) at Smooth Operator Studios in Vancouver and Capsule Studios on Bowen Island, following Frasca receiving support from Creative BC to undertake the project. The sessions will also feature a yet-to-be-announced lineup of acclaimed Canadian musicians.
While the grant supports part of the recording process, Frasca is inviting her community to be part of bringing the new album to life, helping support the recording journey while she works in Vancouver.
“This record feels like a real leap forward for me,” says Frasca. “Heading to Vancouver to work with this incredible Canadian team feels like the perfect place to make it. There’s something about stepping outside your own backyard that pushes you creatively, and I’m ready to see where these songs can go.”
“The incredible thing about being fiercely independent is the freedom to follow the music wherever it wants to go,” says Frasca. “There’s no one standing behind me telling me what kind of record this should be. I get to build it with the people who genuinely believe in the music, and that energy is something people can hear.”
Across a career spanning more than two decades, Frasca has released five studio albums and three EPs, toured the Australian circuit, and performed internationally across Europe, Canada, the United States and the United Kingdom.
Her most recent album Force of Nature debuted at #2 on the ARIA Australian Albums Chart, achieved entirely independently, and was described by Tone Deaf as “a career-defining return to
